The origin story is not a noble one. A friend told me Bitcoin was “software that represents money”. I could write software. Therefore, I concluded, I could write software that printed Bitcoin. That was the genius plan. It did not work, and I have been building on-chain ever since. These days I enjoy the unglamorous half: the state machine behind a trade, the failure case nobody wrote a ticket for, the deploy that stops being scary. When something breaks I want to know why, and that curiosity tends to pull me through the whole stack, interface to contracts.
