AshDex

Perps, spot and prediction markets on Hyperliquid

  • Next.js 15
  • TypeScript
  • Hyperliquid SDK
  • Wagmi
  • Viem
  • Zustand
  • React Query
  • Tailwind 4
  • +3
Launch Private repo
Problem
Hyperliquid's own UI is the only serious way to trade the L1. A builder needs a terminal that matches it feature for feature while staying fully non-custodial and easy to extend.
What I built
A Next.js 15 terminal with no backend: WebSocket subscriptions for mids, order book, candles and ledger feed Zustand stores; every action is signed by the user's wallet through Wagmi and Viem. Limit, market, TP/SL and TWAP orders, cross and isolated margin, spot, HIP-4 outcome markets with share split and merge, portfolio and bridge.
Outcome
Live at ashdex.app with a Playwright end-to-end suite that runs every trading flow against a stubbed exchange and injected wallet, so releases ship without touching real funds.

Lizard Poisons Spock

Commit-reveal wagering game on EVM chains

  • Solidity
  • Hardhat
  • React
  • Vite
  • Wagmi
  • Viem
  • tRPC
  • Socket.IO
  • +3
Launch Private repo
Problem
Sheldon's favourite game, played for real ETH: let two strangers wager on Rock Paper Scissors Lizard Spock without either being able to cheat, stall, or drain the other.
What I built
A monorepo with a commit-reveal Solidity contract deployed fresh per match, an Express server with Socket.IO and tRPC on Postgres for matchmaking and persistence, and a Vite and React client using Wagmi and Viem across eight EVM chains.
Outcome
On-chain timeouts stop stalling, the server verifies deployed bytecode against the compiled artifact to block malicious contracts, and games survive refreshes through persisted state and reconnection.

HL Tools

Automation utilities for Hyperliquid

  • TanStack Start
  • React 19
  • TanStack Router
  • TanStack Query
  • Wagmi
  • Viem
  • RainbowKit
  • Hyperliquid SDK
  • +4
Problem
Testing on Hyperliquid needs testnet USDC, but each faucet claim requires a fresh wallet, and Hyperliquid charges a $1 activation fee on the first transfer into one. Doing that by hand for dozens of wallets is slow and error-prone.
What I built
A TanStack Start app that generates temporary wallets, activates them, claims the faucet, sweeps the testnet USDC back and forwards the mainnet USDC down the chain. Auto mode runs up to fifty wallets; manual mode exposes each step. An aborted chain leaves every wallet drainable and guards key deletion behind an itemised confirmation, and an MCP endpoint lets AI agents drive it.
Outcome
Open source under MIT. About a dollar of net cost per wallet — the Hyperliquid activation fee — with everything else returned to the user.

About

Off the résumé

A friend once described Bitcoin to me as “software that represents money”. I was in college, I could write software, so the plan was obvious: write my own and print it. It went about as well as you would expect, and I have been building on-chain ever since.

What I actually enjoy is the unglamorous half of a product: the state machine behind a trade, the failure case nobody wrote a ticket for, the deploy that stops being scary. I like knowing how the whole thing fits together, and I have never been precious about which layer that means working in today.

Away from work I keep a graveyard of side projects that exist only because the idea amused me — a Big Bang Theory wager game, on-chain Housie for my family, a Tic Tac Toe that costs real gas. Every so often I go back and rebuild one of them from scratch, which is how I end up learning most things.

I am at my best on small teams that ship on short cycles and talk to their own users, on products where the code touches real money and being wrong is expensive. If that is what you are building, I would like to hear about it.
